One of the things I will miss most about leaving South Florida after 33+ years is the close proximity of the beach.  The section of beach between Fort Lauderdale and Hollywood Florida is considered to be the best beach diving in the United States.

The tropical reef structures and marine life commonly seen in the Keys and Caribbean start to emerge along this area of Florida's shoreline.  While the size and color of the ledges does not equal those seen further South in the tropics, it still makes for an economical day of adventure.

Consider $5 for an air tank fill, maybe $4 gas, $6 for parking and finally $5 for a pizza and coke special on the board walk and it makes for one nice $20 day.

Over the past 30 years, I have logged many underwater hours of beach diving along Hollywood Beach.
